Fanny Véliz and Nelson Grande (Director/ Producers. Avenida Productions)  With more than 15 years experience in the industry,  Avenida Productions was created as a platform to independent filmmakers of color, women, and those who are often overlooked and under appreciated by a vast majority of studios. Unlike most production companies, Avenida aims to empower the independent filmmaker by creating a path for them to master and manifest their own destiny. This is all part of an even bigger plan to leave the world better than we found it; one film, script, or project at a time.

Maribel Serrano ( Producer/ Executive Producer) Born in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, California, Maribel is a perfect example of the modern day American-raised Latina who is in pursuit of the "American Dream" that so many people aspire to achieve. Maribel is the second born of 6 siblings in her family, to which she says, "being almost the oldest makes me feel like it's a moral obligation for me to be the best I can so that I can be a positive role model."

As an undocumented student she was unable to apply for financial aid for college, Maribel still managed to be the first in her family to attend a university, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge.

She's now the host of Foro Politico a show on Latino PBS.

She's committed to sharing he story with the world to bring a positive light to immigrants and others who may be in a similar position
